below I have listed a few key points to help you quote your system:-

  • I recommend one PIR per downstairs room.
  • Alarming the upstairs is a nice to have but is normally just the landing.
  • If you have a single story extension to the rear you may wish to protect the upstairs room above it.
  • The control panel needs to be installed close to either a mains plug socket or your fuse box / consumer unit.

passive infra red detectors (also know as PIR or magic eyes) provide great protection at a low price and are very reliable.In garages or conservatorys we recomend a "dual tech"


Vibration detector

Vibration sensors detect vibration on a door or window, they can detect an attempted breakin but are more expensive than PIR's.Some rooms may have more than one window , some larger windows require two detectors.


Door contact

Door contacts are inexpensive but are usually just used on your front door to begin the entry / exit timer,they are not able to detect a door being attacked or glass being smashed.

Fits onto your keyring and can switch the alarm on and off even from just outside yor home, it alaso has the ability to trigger the panic alarm.


Dual Technology sensor

This is a Detector that uses both PIR and microwave technologies to detect movement. This reduces the amount of false alarms as both technologies need to detect movement for an alarm to be raised

A maximum of 2 sounders can be fitted to the Powermaster 10, and up to 8 to the Powermaster 30 and 33, choice of blue or red lens , flashing LED and strobe light.
